Hotel Des Balances - Lucerne

The breakfast is super and of course the venue and scenery are brilliant.

At 6.30 h the bells of the church close by are started. When you sleep with the window opened, you are awake. Eardops won't help ;-)

Air conditioned room, nice bed, and large bathroom...

The queen room was air conditioned with balcony. The location was absolutely gorgeous and top on the banks of the lake in Lucerne, walk from the train station. Had supper enjoying drinks at nearby Restaurant Opus.

I booked the suite so it is very comfortable and relaxing. a very special design of the room unlike other hotel and the particular view outside the balcony which I enjoyed very much.

the hotel staff is a bit "rude". I want some laundry on the easter day but one of the hotel staffs said impossbile due to holiday. however, when I checked with other staff again later and she said can do it in the hotel. I ordered some inroom breakfast one morning but they just gave me a pot of hot water but no tea. when I called them to report the case, she sounds not happy and not even a "sorry" or "apolos" when she brought back the tea.

The location is just perfect - in the very heart of the city. The staff was very friendly, the quality of facilities was also very high.

The evening drinks at the bar with stunning river views. A personal touch was the warm chocolates and note we received. It enhanced our experience.

We were travelling with a young baby and a travel cot was provided for us. The rooms were clean and comfatable and we were also upgraded froma city view to a lake view which was fabulous. The breakfasts were fantastic, although a little expensive as is everything in Switzerland. We also ate in the restaurant at night and the food was amazing!!

The heating wasn't working in the room. It was cold and noisy in the hallway.

Luxurious rooms with very good beds, friendly and helpfull staff, central location with view on the river, eloborate breakfast choice.

Des Balances has an atmosphere of family and luxury, quiet rooms, very service minded and friendly, professional personnel, wonderful views (river side), roof terrace (5th floor)

The cleanness and the worm service of the staff. Also, they have attention to details, everything is available in the room even the plug adaptor was there. The location is unbeatable, in front, very peaceful lake view, at the back, all the nice shops and cafes. Also, the balcony in some of the rooms is breathtaking and nicer than many cafes and restaurants.

There is no air condition. During my visit it was fine, but I’m sure in the summer it will be too hot.

The location was magnificent. My room had a small balcony overlooking the river Reuss. The hotel is slap in the centre of the old city, beautifully designed with a very efficient and friendly team of staff. Will definitely stay again if I can afford it.
